Do you tutor both Foundation and Higher tier GCSE maths?
Yes. We match a tutor to the tier your child is sitting, and we can advise if a tier change is worth discussing with their school.
My child is behind in maths. Where do you start?
With a diagnosis, not a syllabus. The first lesson finds the gaps, and the plan is built backwards from there so nothing is assumed.
How quickly will we see progress?
Confidence tends to move first, often within a few lessons. You will see it in the written report after each session, in plain English.
What is Further Maths, and does my child need it?
At GCSE it is an additional Level 2 certificate most pupils sit alongside GCSE Maths, aimed at those planning A-level Maths or Further Maths, and suits pupils already secure at grade 7 or above. At A-Level it becomes its own full qualification, sat alongside A-Level Maths. If you are unsure which stage your child needs, tell us where they are and we will give you an honest view before matching a tutor.
