Referral Policy

Every parent account has its own invite code, shown in your parent portal under Refer a friend. Share the link with another parent, and when they create their account with it, the referral goes on file.

A referral is recorded once, at signup, against whichever code was used. It can't be changed or added afterwards, so the code has to be entered when the account is created.

You each get one free lesson: one for you, one for the parent you invited.

Nothing is granted at signup. The free lessons are released once the parent you invited has bought their first lessons — a single lesson or any pack. The half-price trial lesson does not count towards it, on its own or as part of a larger order.

If they sign up with your code and never buy, no free lesson is granted, on either side.

A free lesson isn't tied to the student who earned it, or to the level they study at. When it's released, you choose whether you want it as a KS2, KS3, GCSE or A-Level lesson, from your Refer a friend page.

It then sits in your credits like any lesson you've bought: it can be used by any student on your account, at the level you chose or any level below it. If you have a Year 5 and a Year 10, choosing GCSE means either of them can use it.

Free lessons don't expire, and there's no deadline to choose a level.

The programme is for introducing someone else's family to Arcstone. You can't refer yourself, refer a second account in your own household, or set up accounts whose purpose is to trigger the free lessons.

Where two accounts look like they belong to the same household, we hold the referral and look at it by hand before anything is granted. That check is a rough one and it does flag families who are genuinely unrelated — if yours is held and it shouldn't be, email us and we'll release it.

If a referral turns out to be against the spirit of the programme, we can withhold the free lessons or take them back, including one already added to your credits. A free lesson that has already been used to book a lesson isn't reclaimed that way; we'd contact you instead.

Every tutor on Arcstone has their own referral code, shown in your tutor portal under Referrals. If you know someone who'd make a great tutor here, share your code with them.

When they sign up using your code, that referral goes on file against your account. From that point on, we track their progress through approval and their first lesson so we know when a bonus is due.

You earn £10, and the tutor you referred earns £10 too.

The bonus is not paid at signup. It pays out only once the referred tutor has been approved after our usual review, and has completed their first lesson. Both conditions have to be met.

If someone signs up with your code but isn't approved, or is approved but never actually teaches a lesson, no bonus is paid, on either side.

Whichever referral code is entered at signup is the one we record. It can't be changed or reassigned afterwards, and a new tutor can only be credited to one referrer.

The program is for real referrals: someone you know or have introduced, who actually joins and starts tutoring. You can't refer yourself, use fake or duplicate accounts, or set up any arrangement designed to trigger the bonus without a genuine new tutor joining and working.

If a referral turns out to be fraudulent, or against the spirit of the program, we can withhold the bonus or reclaim it, including one already paid.

We add a referral bonus to your payout balance and pay it the same way as your regular lesson earnings: by bank transfer. As with any payout, we can only pay it once you've accepted the current Tutor Agreement.

A referral bonus is treated the same as any other tutor earnings: it counts as taxable income, and it's your own responsibility, as a self-employed tutor, to declare it and account for your own tax and National Insurance.
